Shri Vishnumoorthy Temple, Delanthabettu is a very old, beautiful temple situated in Kanyana village in Bantwala Taluk, Dakshina Kannada District, lying on the lap of mother nature. This temple is built in a place surrounded on two sides by a small stream of river flowing serenely,on one side by areca gardens and in front by a holy Pushkarini and a small hill. Its history dates back to eight hundred years. It was maintained and supported by the Kings of Domba Dynasty who ruled the Vittla region during the 18th and 19th centuries. They arranged for the Prathishta of God Vishnumoorthy for the sake of fulfillment of devotees' wishes regarding healthy life and having children. The deities being worshipped here are Shri Mahaganapathi, Shri Prabhasathyaka Vanashasthara, Shri Vishnumoorthy and Shri Mahakali. Nithya Pooja, special poojas,Sevas related to Harikes, Annual Jathrothsava and Nemothsavas are being held with great fanfare, devotion and regularity.
